iPhone Apps with the Highest Price Tag
If you’ve got a smartphone or an Apple device, you’ve got apps; they go hand-in-hand. While many of us balk at paying more than a few bucks for an app, there are folks out there paying hundreds. Here are the ten most expensive apps available today:
BarMax – $999
For a dollar shy of a grand, I would expect this app to get me dressed, brush my teeth and drive me to work but, surprisingly, it doesn’t do any of that! Designed by Harvard lawyers, this app is more than a GB in itself and promises to help budding attorneys prepare for the bar exam.
iVIP Black – $999
You have to be a millionaire to purchase this app; literally. Not that you’ll need it if you’ve got cash to spare, but the app gives you VIP discounts at such locations as Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Firmdale Hotels and Virgin Limited Edition. Find butlers, theaters and private jets at the tap of a button.
Intuition Control Solo WolfVision – $999
Essentially a very expensive remote control, the app allows you to work your WolfVision visualizers through your iPad. Any images created can be saved on your iPad for easy access later.
The Alchemist SMS – $999
Don’t expect to have any use for this app in your home unless, of course, you are King Midas. The application is used in the steel and scrap industries. It’s all very Mr. Wizard but the app reportedly helps users create gold for the best price.
Agro – $999
Agronomists use the application to create field inspection reports and distribute them right on the paddock so, unless you’re out inspecting farmer’s fields, don’t be tempted to buy this one.
QSFFStats – $999
Don’t get us wrong, we love flag football and we love our kids. But a grand just to keep track of stats? We think we’ll stick with a pencil and a notebook; or a cheaper app!
iRa Pro – $899
If there is a better way to spend your money, we haven’t found it. This app allows schools, governments and corporations to view and control their security systems. Think of it as a mobile control panel. If the price tag scares you, you can try out its baby brother, iRa Direct, for $499.
Lexicomp – $299
The useful application allows you to search through 20 different databases at once when trying to decide what that little pill you found in your kid’s room may be. The app is also great for pharmacy students with a full library list of drug interactions and more.
Proloquo2Go – $189
Don’t scoff at the price of this app; it’s well worth the money. If you know anyone who has speech or language difficulties, the app is much cheaper than larger, professional devices and works just as well. Touchchat HD is fairly similar and comes in at $299.
Nursing Constellation Plus – $179
Drug dosing calculators, clinical pocket guides, therapeutic manuals and a handbook of diagnostic tests are included in this app for nurses. Whether you’re already a nurse or are studying to become one, this app will be indispensable.
Are these apps for the average Joe? Obviously not. However, if you can swing them and have a real use for them, they can be worth their weight in gold.
